See how fiber is changing the world | Green polyester, green textile!
In today's active advocacy of "carbon peak carbon neutrality", environmental protection is not only a fashion, but also a responsibility. Driven by the basic national policy of saving resources and protecting the environment, all walks of life have implemented the most stringent ecological and environmental protection systems, and formed green development methods and lifestyles. The fiber material industry has also achieved certain achievements in green development. However, we must also see that in the chemical fiber industry, polyester fibers with a proportion of more than 80% still have not completely solved the technical problems of catalyst pollution and flame retardant additives. To this end, in the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center (hereinafter referred to as the Innovation Center) and the Alliance's "14th Five-Year" key technology innovation roadmap, it is clearly pointed out that the focus will be on green additives and green functional materials.
01 Urgent demand for green consumption
In today's China's textile industry, chemical fibers account for up to 80% of the total fiber processing, and polyester fibers account for up to 80%. However, for polyester, the problem of catalyst pollution has not been completely solved. Therefore, starting from the high efficiency and flexibility of polyester manufacturing, antimony-free and environmental protection, the greening of the whole process and the functional compounding of products are used to solve the problem of chemical fiber agglomeration. Excessive antimony content in surface water and soil environment due to long-term cumulative discharge in the area has always been a key issue in the development of the polyester industry.
At the same time, although the total amount of chemical fibers in my country exceeds 50 million tons, the flame-retardant fiber is less than 100,000 tons. The demand for flame-retardant fibers in my country exceeds 1 million tons per year, and the world demand exceeds 5 million tons. my country's flame retardants generally face bottlenecks in environmental protection, cost, high efficiency, selection, and compounding. The development of flame retardant fibers is also affected by preparation technology and performance, standardization of standards, import and export limitations, and the soundness of laws and regulations. factor constraints.
In addition, the environmental protection of chemical fiber oil, the environmental protection of chemical fiber affected by oil, and the green treatment of waste oil are also a topic that the fiber material industry attaches great importance to. However, at present, chemical fiber oil is still imported in large quantities, and technical breakthroughs in the industry are urgently needed.
According to Mei Feng, chairman of the National Advanced Functional Fiber Innovation Center, in order to promote the green development of the fiber industry and the development of model innovation, the innovation center has formulated a development roadmap for the development of environmentally friendly catalysts, green oil additives, and flame-retardant polyester fiber preparation technologies. , it is proposed to start from the high efficiency and flexibility of polyester manufacturing, antimony-free and environmental protection, through the greening of the whole process and the functional compounding of products, to solve the problem of excessive antimony content in surface water and soil environment caused by long-term cumulative discharge of chemical fiber accumulation areas.
In terms of flame retardant polyester fiber preparation technology, it is necessary to establish a 10,000-ton-level flexible and intelligent polyester melt direct spinning industrialization operation device to overcome long-term environmental protection flame retardant polyester fibers and products. Chain engineering collaborative development system. From 2022 to 2023, it is necessary to improve and increase the quality level of flame-retardant textiles in my country and the promotion and application of antimony-free and flame-retardant polyester in shareholder units. By 2024, it is necessary to promote the application and popularization of environment-friendly catalysts and flame-retardant polyesters in the whole industry.
02 Progress in research and development of green chemicals and special functional finishing auxiliaries
Since its establishment, the innovation center has taken the promotion of green manufacturing in the industry as one of the key development directions. In recent years, the development and industrialization of antimony-free polyester fibers, and the development of environmentally friendly domestic polyester filament FDY/POY oils, etc. No effort was spared to establish a corresponding laboratory, and a high-level R&D team with Yu Jianyong, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering as the chief scientist, absorbed more than 70 scientific and technological personnel, and actively carried out pilot verification projects. Full bloom.
Mei Feng introduced that since 2021, the innovation center has spared no effort in promoting the research and development of green catalysts and oil agents, and has cooperated with shareholders and alliance members to carry out the pilot test of antimony-free fibers, and optimized the transportation and distribution of polyester melt, spinning and The post-processing technology has formed a complete set of titanium-based catalysts for polyester melt direct spinning, and developed titanium-based polyester filaments and a series of differentiated polyester products. The overall technology is at the international advanced level; in Jiangsu Guowang High-tech Fiber The Co., Ltd. has completed the research and development and verification of environmentally friendly domestic polyester filament FDY oil, and developed a green oil with high antistatic, high bundle, high smoothness, and can meet the requirements of FDY high-speed spinning; Hong Fiber Co., Ltd. jointly developed an antimony-free catalyst, which was developed based on titanium-based catalysts, which improved the long-term problem of color difference in polyesters produced due to the high activity of titanium-based catalysts.
The innovation center also conducts research and innovation on the innovative oil agents that support the development of the polyester industry chain, condensed the common scientific issues of environmentally friendly domestic oil agents, and laid out relevant applied basic research and prospective research, from the synthesis of interface treatment agent components, single group A complete set of "process package" technology is formed from the aspects of structure and performance, formulation design and preparation to the matching of interface treatment agent to polyester spinning process and the evaluation of fiber post-processing spinnability, focusing on functionalized FDY, POY , carbon fiber, polylactic acid, aramid fiber, polyphenylene sulfide and other fibers used imported interface treatment agents to the domestic chemical fiber industry "stuck neck" problem.
With the development of green products, the relevant standard certification system also needs to be improved. For this reason, the innovation center also actively promotes the formulation and revision of relevant standards for green chemicals and catalysts. Mei Feng introduced that taking the formulation and revision of relevant standards for antimony-free fibers as an example, the innovation center not only carried out actions in the design and preparation of titanium-based catalysts, engineering technology research and variety development, but also collected existing titanium-based catalysts on the market. Test and evaluate its components, physical and chemical properties, appearance properties and catalytic properties, and promote the formulation of standards for titanium-based catalysts and differentiated chips and fiber products. At present, the innovation center has presided over the formulation of 3 industry standards in related aspects, and participated in the formulation and revision of 1 national standard; it has a national textile and fiber testing center to meet ecological and environmental protection and functional testing.
In addition, the innovation center also launched a "trusted platform for green fiber products" in cooperation with Ali and Huansi team. The platform uses national secondary node analysis technology, blockchain technology, supply chain traceability system and other informatization means to build a garment weaving from bottle flake recycling to downstream, transparent and credible recycling from fibers to end products. The purpose of the traceability platform is to build China's own transparent, traceable and reliable industrial Internet platform, maintain the market order of green fibers and textiles, and build this platform into a world-class certification platform in the future.
